Helen Louise Arthurs Moore, 88, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born in Lewis County on May 20, 1935, a daughter of the late Raymond “Jack” and Margaret Meyer Arthurs.
Helen was a Christian. She enjoyed gardening, watching westerns on TV, sitting on the front porch listening to the wind chimes, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Helen is survived by three daughters, Janet (Richard) Hollar of Wallingford, and Cathy Christy and Margaret Corns of Vanceburg; three sons, Billy (Teresa) Moore of Garrison, and Gary Moore and Danny Moore of Vanceburg; six grandchildren, BJ Moore, Megan Hollar, April Moore, Tina Montieth, David Corns, and Crystal McIntosh; and 14 great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 36 years, Leslie Ray Moore; one son Timmy Moore; four sisters, Thelma Moore, Ruth Thurman, Doris Holt, and Margie Doyle; one brother, Jimmy Arthurs; and a great-granddaughter, Angel LeeAnn Corns.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Arthur Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Webster Cemetery at Clarksburg.
Friends may visit after 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 27, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Jesse McIntosh, Bobby Smith, Billy Clark, Richard Hollar, Gary Moore, and Billy Moore.
