Henry Caseman

Henry E. Caseman, 79, of Vanceburg, passed away unexpectedly Thursday, July 31, 2025, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

He was born in Lewis County on December 11, 1945, a son of the late Marlin M. and Lorene Smith Caseman.

Henry was a self-employed mechanic who worked on small engines, lawnmowers, cars, and tractors. He enjoyed gardening and making knives. He was of the Christian faith and was always willing to lend a helping hand to anyone in need. Most of all, he dearly loved his family.

Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Barb Hobbs Caseman; two daughters, Kathy (Chuck) Riffe of Garrison and Karen (Jimmy) Barker of Sandy Hook; a sister, Barbara (Ted) Wells of Vanceburg; four granddaughters, Stephanie (Anthony) Corns, Christy (Kenneth) Carver, Kelli Jo Riffe, and Erika Morgan; and eight great-grandchildren, Charles Corns, Henry Carver, Laney Sawyer, Ariona Riffe, Elaina Carver, Kayrena Corns, Noah Harlow, and Colson Harlow. Many extended family members and friends also mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Randolph Caseman, Leroy Caseman, and Donald Caseman; and a great-grandson, Isaac Corns.

Services will be at Noon Monday, August 4, 2025, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Caseman-Riffe Cemetery at Garrison.

Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Monday at Gaydos Funeral Home.
