Charles “Herb” Johnson, 72, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, April 28, 2022, at Southern Ohio Medical Center Hospice in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born July 5, 1949, in Lewis County, a son of the late Leslie Johnson and Maggie Hobbs Johnson.
Herb was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed going to the beach with his wife, riding his Gator, swinging on the back porch, and going to the bank to work.
He is survived by two daughters, Leslie Crump and Robin Barnes of Vanceburg; two grandchildren, Bentley Crump and Jackson Crump; one sister, Anna Kamer of Vanceburg; and a host of family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death his wife of 46 years, Donna Stafford Johnson; two brothers, Jim Johnson and Bob Johnson; and a sister, Shirley Lawson.
Services will be at 5:00 p.m. Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 4:00 p.m. until the service hour Saturday, May 7, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
