Hilda Ilene Howard Pruitt, 84, of Garrison, passed away Thursday evening, August 19, 2021, at her home.
She was born May 20, 1937, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Earnest Howard and Stella Jones Howard.
Hilda was a Christian for many years and was retired from Kentucky Schools as an instructional assistant. She enjoyed traveling, crocheting and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren whom she loved and adored.
Hilda is survived by one son, Danny Ray Pruitt of Garrison; one daughter, Kathy (Paul) Collier of Garrison; and four grandchildren, Christina (Ryan) Hook, Karrah (Chris) Bryan, Matthew (Annie) Collier, and Dannielle (Tommy) Ruckel. A host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband of 67 years, Virgil Pruitt; one granddaughter, Alissa Bloomfield; and two brothers, Norman Howard and Ray Howard.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 25, 2021, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison with Sister Jamie Hanning officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until the service hour on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Matthew Collier, Ryan Hook, Dannielle Ruckel, Christina Hook, Ian Hook and Tommy Ruckel.
