Iva Jean Bloomfield Cooley, 85, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday evening, January 15, 2018, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio.
She was born May 25, 1932, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Watt and Bessie Bloomfield.
Iva was of the Pentecostal faith and was a homemaker. She enjoyed going to church and spending time with her family.
Iva is survived by four sons and one daughter-in-law, Calvin Cooley, Jimmy Cooley, Eddie Cooley, and Billy and Teresa Cooley, all of Garrison; two daughters and one son-in-law, Mary and Bobby Thurman and Wilma Cooley, all of Vanceburg; 38 grandchildren; 83 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one sister. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, William “Melvin” Cooley; one daughter, Carol Edington; three sons, Harry Cooley, Larry Cooley, and Woodrow Cooley; one granddaughter, Wilma Jean Edington; four great-grandchildren, Janice Marie Waughtel, Jaelynna Knell, Tammy Cooley, and Larry Ray Cooley Jr; and several brothers and sisters.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Homer Nolen officiating. Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison, .
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 19, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
