Iva Jean Henderson Kennard, 88, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday afternoon, January 27, 2017, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care Center in Vanceburg.
She was born October 2, 1928, in Lewis County, a daughter of OL and Hattie Elizabeth Parrish Henderson.
Jean is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon Esham and Gary of Quincy, and Karon Burriss and Bill of Vanceburg; four grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and 12 great-great-grandchildren. She leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David W. “Bud” Kennard; a brother, Albert Henderson; and two sisters, Lucille Henderson McNutt and Audrey Henderson Hronek.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, January 30, 2017, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tom Cox and Bro. Charlie Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Sunday, January 29, 2017, and until the service hour on Monday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Billy Burriss, Braydon Conley, Bud Burriss, Michael Esham, Paul Vogel and Andrew Vogel.
