Jack Gilbert, 71, of Garrison, passed away, Friday, November 26, 2021, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
He was born April 5, 1950, in Lewis County, a son of the late Hansel and Dorcas Sartin Gilbert.
Jack attended Wright’s Chapel Church. He enjoyed fishing, working on old cars, yard work, watching old westerns, and spending time with his family.
Jack is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Brenda Kay Wright Gilbert; one son, Jackie Allen Gilbert Jr. (Kim) of Augusta; one daughter, Brittany Kay Walters (Lafe) of Georgetown; three sisters, Patty Kennard of Vanceburg, Judy Harrison of Titusville, Florida, and Sheila McCall (Roger) of Maysville; four grandchildren, Kyler, Madyson, Shelby, and Abigale; and one great-grandchild, Everly.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, John Anthony Gilbert.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 1, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Larry Joe Madden officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 30, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Donnie Wright, Chris Weddington, Jerry Scaggs, Donnie Brown, Jason Weddington, Scott Weddington, Lafe Walters, and Kyler Gilbert.
