Jack Oscar Ginn Sr., 76, of Quincy, passed away Wednesday morning, October 26, 2016, at Hospice of Hope in Maysville.
He was born January 25, 1940, in Lewis County, a son of the late Andrew F. and Elaine V. Griffith Ginn.
Jack proudly served his country in the US Navy and had worked as a carpenter. He was a Christian and accepted Christ as his Savior during hospice care. Jack enjoyed trapping, antiques, artifacts, fishing, hunting, and spending time with family and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Johnny Ray Stapleton; and a sister, Karen Wilber.
Jack is survived by his companion of 27 years, Elizabeth Silvey Rister; five sons, Jack Oscar Ginn Jr. of Flemingsburg, Jimmy Smith and Randy Wilburn (Dawn), both of Vanceburg, Dale Robinson (Donna) of Grayson, and Eugene Wilburn (Candice) of Garrison; three daughters, Tonya Clark (Joe) of Garrison, Tera Day (Ray) of Harlan, and Teresa Harr (Slade) of Orient, Ohio; 23 grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one brother, Jerry Lee Ginn of Summerville, South Carolina; three sisters, Peggy A. Fox of Columbus, Ohio, Andreal L. Osborne of New Boston, Ohio and Barbara F. Isaac, of Wilmington, Ohio; and one special niece, Rosie Tackett of Springfield, Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Billy Bowles officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison with full military honors accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
