James Ellis Carver II, 23, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday morning, August 8, 2016, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born May 18, 1993, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of James Ellis Carver and Rebecca Esham Zornes.
James enjoyed hunting, fishing, four-wheeling, being outdoors, and spending time with his family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandmother, Carlene Carver.
James is survived by his father and step-mother, James Ellis Carver and Nannetta Wells of Greenup; his mother and step-father, Rebecca and Jeffrey A. Zornes of Vanceburg; two brothers and a sister-in-law, James Richard Ford and Sheena, and Eli Chavous, all of Vanceburg; four sisters, Deonda Nicole Ford of Abilene, Texas, Rose Zornes, Colleen Zornes, and Lynzie Zornes, all of Vanceburg; one step-brother and wife, Zachary Zornes and Laura of Flemingsburg; one step-sister and husband, Ashli Bauma and Nick of Denver, Colorado; his paternal grandfather, Donald Carver of Garrison; his maternal grandparents, Jim and Patty Esham of Vanceburg; one nephew, Keagan Richard Ford of Vanceburg; and one niece, Kyle Zornes of Flemingsburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
A graveside service will be at 2:30 p.m. Thursday, August 11, 2016, at Great Outdoor Cemetery on Cooper Fork with Father Dave Glockner officiating.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 10, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Jake Bowen, Justin Porter, Derrick Medley, Adam McGlone, Christopher Mercky, Steven Theiss, David Pullman, Thomas George Newsome, and Zach Zornes. Honorary pallbearers will be Jim Esham and Donald Carver.
