James Wilford Hobbs, 66, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday morning, December 4, 2018, at his home.
He was born September 18, 1952, in Lewis County, a son of the late Wilford and Opal May McCleese Hobbs.
James proudly served his country in the United States Army and attended Vanceburg Church of God. He enjoyed gardening, visiting with other people when he was able and spending time with his family.
James is survived by two brothers, Roger Hobbs of Aberdeen, Ohio, and Kenneth Hobbs (Regina) of Vanceburg; and two sisters, Darlene Barker of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Nancy Carrington of Vanceburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by seven brothers, Roy Hobbs, Virgil Hobbs, Willie Hobbs, Ralph Hobbs, Gary Hobbs, Jack Hobbs and Kendall Hobbs; and two sisters, Marlene Williamson and Pauline Collier.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at Dickerson Funeral Home with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
