James Richard “Hoss” Lykins, 55, of Garrison, passed away Wednesday morning, May 9, 2018, at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.
He was born August 28, 1962, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a son of Lana Kay Burriss Riffe of Garrison, and the late James Monroe Lykins.
James was of the Christian faith and worked as a carpenter. He enjoyed fishing, hunting ginseng, watching sports and spending time with his family and friends.
In addition to his mother, James is survived by his wife of 24 years, Rebecca Cooley Lykins; his stepfather, Jim Riffe of Garrison; one son, Levi James Lykins of Garrison; one daughter, Hannah Nicole Spry (Nick) off Garrison; five brothers, Robert Wayne Lykins, Chuck Riffe, David Riffe, and George Riffe, all of Garrison, and Chris Burriss of Hillsboro; and six sisters, Connie Darlene Willis of Tucson, Arizona, Jennifer Lynn Fouch, Jana Fay Frerichs, Edna Riffe, and Ethel Bolander, all of Garrison, and Linda Mae Wilson of Raleigh, North Carolina. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Jimmy H. Riffe Jr, and one nephew, Drew Riffe.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Morgan Cemetery at Head of Grassy.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.
Pallbearers will be Bobby Lykins, Peyton Lykins, Kyle Frerichs, Tim Kimbler, Danny Cooley, and Mike Eaton.
