Michael Bellamy

James Michael Bellamy, 48, of Tollesboro, passed away unexpectedly Sunday evening, May 16, 2021, as the result of injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Heaven gained another angel that day.

He was born November 20, 1972, in Lexington, a son of the late James Ronald and Dorothy Louise Bellamy.

Michael attended Hickory Grove Church in Tollesboro and was a loving son, brother, nephew, uncle, husband, father, and grandfather who always put his family above all other concerns. He was our gentle giant teddy bear with a heart of gold.

Michael was a mechanic at Mike’s Garage who loved helping everyone. He loved spending time with family and friends, and going to church and gospel concerts. He had a passion for wood crafting.

Left to cherish his loving memories are his wife of 26 years, Jennifer McClanahan Bellamy; two daughters, Brittany Bellamy and Harlie Bellamy Hudnall (Austin) of Tollesboro; two grandchildren, Addison and Shiloh; two sisters, Lisa Fultz (Tony) of Vanceburg and Rhonda Bellamy of Tollesboro; one brother-in-law, Mark Fetters (Misty) of South Point, Ohio; two sisters-in-law, Jackie McClanahan of Vanceburg and Chris Elliott of Hope, Indiana; his mother-in-law, Connie McClanahan of Tollesboro; and several nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, cousins, and extended family and friends. He also leaves many others who will sadly mourn his passing.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Rick Elliott; his maternal grandparents, Omar and Helen Margaret Pierce; his paternal grandmother, Emma Bellamy; and his father-in-law, Larry McClanahan.

A celebration of life service will be announced at a later date.

All arrangements are being cared for by Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services.
