James Monroe Stacy, 92, of Wallingford, passed away Saturday Morning, October 15, 2016, at his home after an extended illness.
James was born in Lewis County September 17, 1924, to the late Frank and Mary Evelyn Brewer Stacy.
He was a retired logger, farmer and a veteran of the US Army. He enjoyed being with his family and playing music.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Thelma Stacy; five sons, Kevin, Woodie, Dale, Randy Dean and Jackie; two brothers; and a sister.
Survivors include two sons, Ricky (Debbie) Stacy and Larry (Pat) Stacy; three daughters, Velma (Curtis) Conn, Roxanne (Randy) Ingram and Cindy (Chris) Kissick; a sister, Polly Blankenship; several grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and cousins; and many friends.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday October 18, 2016, at Boone-Nickell Funeral Home in Flemingsburg with Bro. Tom Redmon officiating. Burial will follow in Sargent Branch Cemetery at Petersville.
Military graveside rites will be accorded by WN Fant American Legion Post 5 and Franklin Sousley VFW Post 1834.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
