James W. Thomas, 74, of Tollesboro, died Thursday, December 15, 2016, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
Mr. Thomas was formerly engaged in farming and was a member of Galilee Christian Church.
He was born in Lewis County, on April 12, 1942, a son of the late Adrian and Mildred “Midge” Hord Thomas.
Survivors include his daughter, Cathy Mason (Darrel Fannin) of Tollesboro; his son, Dennis Thomas of Tollesboro; three grandchildren, Dylan Mason (Shanna), Shelbi Thomas (Jeris Carver) and Brandon Thomas; two great-grandchildren, Mylah Mason and Knox Mason; one brother, Fred Thomas of Mooresville, Indiana; and one sister, Wanda Ginn of Maysville.
Services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 20, 2016, at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro with Rev. Phil Cropper officiating. Burial will be in Mount Carmel Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Terry Thomas, Jeff Hord, Terrell McCall, Dylan Mason, Darrel Fannin, Dustin Bradford, Dale Hord, Brad Hord, and Charlie Hord.
Visitation will be from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
