Helen Jane Switzer Yates, 65, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2019, at her home.
She was born September 28, 1954, in Portsmouth, Ohio, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mima Royal Switzer.
Jane loved spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include a son, Mike Yates (Sandra) of Vanceburg; three brothers, Tom Switzer, Rick Switzer, and Chuck Switzer, all of Vanceburg; five sisters, Thelma King of Bucyrus, Ohio, Sue Kennedy, Kathy Wilson, and Robin Polley, all of Vanceburg, and Donna Grayson of Tollesboro; three grandchildren, Matthew McCane, Jonathan Yates, and Chase Yates; and one great-grandchild, Emberly Yates. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Brandon Yates; a brother, James “Bubbles” Switzer; and a sister, Georgia Switzer.
Services will be at Noon Friday, November 15, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Tom Switzer officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens in at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 10:30 a.m. until the hour of services Friday, November 15, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
