William Jerry Ervin, 93, went home to be with his Lord, Jesus Christ, on May 12, 2024, from Dayspring Assisted Living and Care Center in Mansfield, Ohio. He had been a resident there since August 19, 2022.
He was born at Garrison on May 10, 1931, a son of the late Cecil and Goldie Osborne Ervin.
Jerry was a US Army Korean War Veteran who proudly served his country in Germany and England as an engineer from 1952 to 1954.
He spent most of his life in Crestline, Ohio, working as a custodian in the Crestline Schools District.
Survivors include two sisters, Pearl Pence of Mansfield, Ohio, and Vesta Jean Kimbler of Portsmouth, Ohio; a brother, Don (Jeanette) Ervin of Mansfield, Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by four sisters, Lillian Williamson, Minnie Ervin, Edna Jamison, and Judy Ervin; and two brothers Clayton Ervin and Chester Ervin.
Services will be at Noon Thursday, May 16, 2023, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Garrison with his brother, Don Ervin, officiating. Visitation will be one hour prior to services.
Burial will follow in Waring Cemetery at Garrison with military graveside rites.
Pallbearers will be Rick Ervin, Gary Ervin, Mark Ruggles, and Don Ervin.
