Jessica Kaye (Brady) Hazlett, 44, of Maysville, passed away Thursday, January 22, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
She was born on February 11, 1981, at Lexington, a daughter of George and Beverly Brady.
In addition to her parents, who reside at Dover, survivors include two sons, Joseph Bryant Hazlett and Bradyn Scott Hazlett of Maysville; her grandmother, Charlette (Gilby) Crawford of Flemingsburg; her brother, Lathe (Sherry) Brady of Maysville; and her nieces, Gabby (Tyler) Lippert of Lexington, Hannah Brady of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, and Harper Brady of Versailles. She also leaves behind her aunts, uncles, cousins, many friends, and the countless students she taught during her 23-year career as a mathematics teacher at Mason County High School.
During her teaching career, Jessica served for many years as a Beta Club sponsor. She was a member of Crosspointe Church at Tollesboro and was recently commissioned a Kentucky Colonel by Gov. Andy Beshear.
She was preceded in death by her brother, Nathan Perry Brady; her maternal grandparents, Jesse and Hattie Mae Bryant; and her paternal grandparents, Stanley H. Brady and Margaret Brady.
Services will be at Noon Friday, January 30, 2026, at Tollesboro Funeral Home with Pastor Kent Moore officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Tabor Cemetery at Ribolt. A dinner will follow at Tollesboro Cornerstone Church.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 29, and after 8:30 a.m. Friday at the funeral home.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Hazlett, Bradyn Hazlett, Kalin Foreman, Tyler Lippert, Dravin Rout, and Darin Spence. Honorary pallbearers will be Lathe Brady, Gabby Lippert, Hannah Brady, Harper Brady, Randy Harrison, Rex White, Todd Hazlett, and Darrell Applegate.
