Jewell Mae Corns Wilson, 86, of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, January 4, 2025, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead. She was surrounded by her loving family.
She was born in Lewis County on May 6, 1938, a daughter of the late Paris and Viola Maynard Corns.
Jewell was a member of Vanceburg Church Of God and Petersville Church of God. She loved attending church and reading her Bible. She enjoyed watching her two favorite TV shows, Cheyenne and Walker, and spending time with her family.
Jewell is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Douglas Wilson; one son, Mitchell (Diana) Wilson of Vanceburg; one very special grandson, Mitchell Wilson II, the love of her life; two sisters, Janet Thompson of Vanceburg and Freida Kamer of Columbus, Ohio; and two brothers, Leonard Corns of Camp Dix and Charles (Norma) Corns of Bucyrus, Ohio. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Ruby Cooper, and two brothers, Wallace Corns and Ernest Corns.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Brian Williams and Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Gulley Cemetery.
Friends may visit after Noon Thursday, January 9, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Family members and friends will serve as pallbearers.
