Jill Ann Wills Shumate, 55, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday morning, November 18, 2019, at the Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
She was born November 25, 1963, in Mason County, a daughter of the late Jerry Dean Wills and Anna Pollitt Dunigan.
Jill was a member of Hickory Grove Christian Holiness Church and worked for the Cabinet for Health and Family Services. She enjoyed shopping, watching Hallmark movies, loafing at Super Quik and spending time with her family.
Jill is survived by her father, Delbert “Duke” Dunigan of Vanceburg; two sisters, Marsha Swearingen of Vanceburg, and Mary Huff (Billy Dryden) of Flemingsburg; one niece, Erica Huff; one nephew, Luke Swearingen; one great-nephew, Jaxon Henderson; and one great-niece, Anna Laney. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Edward “Ed” Shumate.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 23, 2019, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. David Hickerson officiating. Entombment will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 22, 2019, and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Howard Collier, Todd Sartin, Robie Bentley, Chris Yates, Rusty Dunigan, and Joe Toller. George Hughes will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
