John “Bud” Cook

John “Bud” Cook, 86, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday, April 18, 2023, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

He was born Sunday, September 24, 1936, a son of the late Orville Webb and Anna Hamilton Cook.

Bud attended Blankenship Christian Holiness Church. He loved going to work everyday with his son and grandson and watching NASCAR.

Survivors include one son, Johnny (Linda) Cook of Vanceburg; two grandchildren, Natasha (Marty) Cole and Matt (Shannon) Cook; four great-grandchildren, Emily Grace Cole, Ayden Bruce Cole, Gabe Cook, and Isabel Cook; and two sisters, Jane Evans and Sharon Kegley, both of Vanceburg. Many other family and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Charlene Fetters Cook; and one sister, Rosemary Crawford.

Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Sunday, April 23, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Chapel, 110 West Second Street, Vanceburg with Bro. Tony Corns officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Johnny Cook, Marty Cole, Dobo Patton, Matt Cook, Ayden Cole, and Timothy Patton will serve as pallbearers.

Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg is caring for all arrangements for John ”Bud” Cook.
