John Maxwell Lewis, 65, of Garrison, passed away peacefully, Monday, December 23, 2024, at his home. His loving wife was at his side.
He was born March 15, 1959, in Lewis County, a son of the late Floyd and Maxine Hyrne Lewis.
He loved to ride horses and everything about them, the great outdoors, and deer hunting. John loved his family very much and enjoyed being with his friends. He will be greatly missed by all his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife of 46 years, Janie Lewis; two daughters, LaNora Click of Sandy Hook and Emily Flinders of Garrison; two sons, Timothy Plank of Tollesboro and Joshua N. Lewis of Vanceburg; one sister, Trina Ellis of Vanceburg; three brothers, James Lewis, Matt Lewis, and Tom Lewis of Vanceburg; several grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Waylon Plank; one sister, Dora Mae Johnson; and one brother, Donald Wayne Lewis.
The family of Mr. Lewis will not be having any services for him. On behalf of his family, in their time of grief, they hope everyone understands.
