Judy Marie Sparks, 66, of New London, Ohio, formerly of Vanceburg, passed away Saturday, November 6, 2021, at New Life Hospice Center in Lorain, Ohio.
Judy was born at Vanceburg on November 16, 1954, a daughter of the late Bill and Elvira Carpenter Chinn.
Judy was a LPN, having worked for The Laurels Nursing Home of New London, Ohio. She was an excellent seamstress, making dresses, curtains, and especially quilts. Judy and Roger would raise a big garden, from which she would can most of their produce. Judy was of the Christian faith. She loved being around her family, especially her grandchildren whom she adored.
Left to cherish Judy’s memories are her husband of 48 years, Roger Sparks, whom she married September 22, 1973; one daughter, Tracey (Rich) Logan of Wakeman, Ohio; one son, Matthew Sparks of Wellington, Ohio; three sisters, Charlene Chinn of Maysville, Donna (Roy) Robersion of Gainsville, Georgia, and Kelly Robersion of Copperhill, Tennessee; a brother, Herbert (Weedy) Linda Chinn of Maysville, Georgia; and five grandchildren, Caleb Logan, Elizabeth Logan, Josh Logan, Nicole Sparks, and Alex Sparks.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her grandma, Ethel Chinn, who raised her; three sisters, Delena O’Laughlin, PearlSmith, and Priscilla Thomas; two brothers, William Chinn and Johnny Chinn; and a daughter-in-law, Debra Sparks.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 13, 2021, at Gaydos Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Dr. Howard Wilson officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2021, at Gaydos Funeral Home, 159 Second Street in Vanceburg.
Pallbearers will be Caleb Logan, Josh Logan, Alex Sparks, Kenny Willbond, Mark Sparks, Steve Mefford, Harold Potter IV, and Jacob Moore.
