Junie Scott

Carl “Junie” Morton Scott Jr., 74, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, January 22, 2024, at his home. He was surrounded by his loving family.

He was born August 29, 1949, in Lewis County, a son of the late Carl Morton and Georgia Fay Montieth Scott.

Junie was a member of Shepherd’s Chapel in Vanceburg. He enjoyed fishing, golfing, going to tractor pulls, working puzzles, tinkering, and spending time with his family.

Survivors include his wife of eight years, Becky Fannin Scott; one daughter, Debbie (Jonathan) Goodwin of Vanceburg; two sons, Chris Scott (Amanda Logan) of Carlisle and Shane (Melinda) Scott of Lawrenceburg; one stepson, Randall Johnson of Portsmouth, Ohio; eight sisters, Fay Sawyer and Cheryl Riley of Vanceburg, Joyce Carter of Hocking Hills, Ohio, Carla Parton and Amanda Bloom of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Mildred Clifford, Rhonda Buckner, and Ruth “Junie” Buckner of Camp Dix; one brother, John Scott of Camp Dix; 11 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Maurice Scott.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Ronnie Hall and Bro. Jackie Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 30, 2024, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, January 31, 2024, at Dickerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Gavin Scott, Michael Scott, Jacob Goodwin, JB Moore, Dwight Carrington, and John Scott.
