Kayla Renee Middleton Prather, 35, of Aberdeen, Ohio, passed away Sunday, December 18, 2022, as the result of injuries sustained in a automobile collision in Brown County, Ohio.
She was born in Rowan County on February 7, 1987, a daughter of Jeffery Wayne and Paula Middleton Messer.
Kayla was of the Christian faith. She loved her daughter Autumn Skie and her husband of 13 years, Ben. She enjoyed reading, especially Harry Potter. She loved painting and drawing. She was very artistic. Kayla loved traveling, shopping, going to the movies, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her daughter and husband.
In addition to her parents, survivors include her husband, Benjamin Prather; her daughter, Autumn Prather; her papaw, Ruffus Middleton; her brother, Kyle Jordan who she loved and grew up with; her brother, Brett Kiser who she was excited about just getting to know; her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Tucker and Linda Wallingford; four very special aunts who loved her dearly; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, and other family members and friends who will sadly mourn her passing.
Kayla was preceded in death by her mamaw, Faye Middleton, and her granny, Alma Jordan.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Globe Funeral Chapel at Olive Hill with Bro. Terry Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Sunshine Hill Cemetery at Olive Hill.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 30, 2022, and after 9:00 a.m. Saturday at Globe Funeral Chapel at Olive Hill.
A memorial service will be at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 29, 2022, at Riverview Baptist Church in Aberdeen, Ohio.
Visitation at Riverview Baptist Church will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
