Kenneth “Nick” Johnson, 81, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord, with his loving family by his bedside, Thursday evening, May 20, 2021, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.
He was born July 19, 1939, in Lewis County, a son of the late Bruce and Salana Johnson Johnson.
Kenneth was of the Pentecostal faith and enjoyed playing the guitar in church, mowing grass, gardening, helping others, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 58 years, Susan E. Presley Johnson; two sons, Timothy Johnson of Vanceburg and Delbert Johnson (Drema) of Tollesboro; one daughter, Marsha Hartley (Dwayne) of Vanceburg; four grandchildren, Monty Ginn, Hope Carpenter, Ethan Johnson and Alicia Edwards; 10 great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and one brother, Allan Johnson of Tollesboro. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by five brothers, Clarence Johnson, Edwin Johnson, Herb Johnson, Frank Johnson, and Delbert Johnson; and four sisters, Pearl Johnson, Grace Johnson, Dottie Williams, and Kathryn Johnson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Brian Williams and Bro. Ralph Ferguson officiating. Interment will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery at Vanceburg.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, May 25, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
