Kenneth Smith, 61, of Garrison, passed away Saturday, February 11, 2017, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born December 12, 1955, in Rensselaer, Indiana, a son of the late George and Loua Mae McFarland Smith.
Kenneth was a member of the Lloyd Ridge Pentecostal Church and was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed going to church, gardening, feeding his chickens, watching car races, and spending time with his family and friends, especially his grandchildren.
Kenneth is survived by his wife of 43 years, Joyce Spence Smith; one son and daughter-in-law, Kenneth Wayne and Ellen Smith of Tollesboro; five daughters and sons-in-law, Angel and Herman Tidwell of Maysville, Jamie and Randy Belcher of Vanceburg, Tabitha and Garry Jewell, Marry and Richard Jewell, and Brenda and Jimmy Cassidy, all of Garrison; ten grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and two sisters, Georgia Lewis of Vanceburg, and Kathy Henry of Ohio. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, George Smith; two brothers, Rick Smith and Ray Vaughn; and one grandson, Jason Ray Smith.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 17, 2017, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Anthony Rister, and his daughter, Tabitha Jewell officiating. Burial will follow in Spy Run Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, February 16, 2017, and after 9:00 a.m. Friday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue in Garrison.
Kenneth’s daughters, granddaughters, son, and sons-in-law will serve as pallbearers.
