Kermit Wayne Kilgore, 63, of Vanceburg, went home to be with the Lord, Monday morning, July 4, 2016, surrounded by his family at St. Claire Regional Medical Center in Morehead.

He was born September 6, 1952, in Lewis County, a son of the late Robert and Parthena Logan Kilgore.

Kermit was a member of the Upper Tygart Freewill Baptist church and enjoyed going to church, visiting with the sick, and spending time with family and friends, especially his grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one daughter, Vanessa Bentley; one brother, Otha Kilgore; and one sister, Wilma Mabry.

Kermit is survived by his wife of 46 years, Judy Kay Stevens Kilgore; two daughters and sons-in-law, Beverly and Phillip Bloomfield of Vanceburg, and Karen and Jimmy Hunt of Flemingsburg; five grandchildren, Devin Bentley and Zachary Bloomfield, both of Vanceburg, Lakin Lewis of Tollesboro, and Austin and Brady Hunt of Flemingsburg; five great-grandchildren, Karrisa, Tawny, Kaelyn, Kyleigh, and Ellie; four brother and three sisters-in-law, Virgil Kilgore and Vernon and Wanda Kilgore, all of Olive Hill, Joe and Vickie Kilgore, and Troy and Patty Kilgore, all of Vanceburg; and three sisters and two brothers-in-law, Mary and Ernie Kelsie of Vanceburg, Debra and Trent Enix, and Susie Wagoner, all of Olive Hill. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 7, 2016, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix with Bro. Eugene Rayburn and Bro. Bobby Day officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 6, 2016, and until the service hour on Thursday at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.

Pallbearers will be Austin Hunt, Vernon Kilgore, Joe Kilgore, Randy Gilliam, Eric Kilgore, JD Enix, Donnie Gilliam, and Tony Butler. Honorary pallbearers will be Virgil Kilgore and Kermit’s church family.
