Leroy “Lee” Labshere Jr.

Leroy “Lee” R. Labshere Jr., 74, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday evening, October 2, 2016, at Hospice of Hope at Kenton Pointe in Maysville after a long illness.

He was born October 6, 1941, in Cambridge, New York, a son of the late LeRoy and Genevieve Labshere.

Leroy was a veteran of the United States Army and was of the Christian faith. He enjoyed traveling, fishing, hunting, going to car and tractor shows, restoring old tractors, Jeeps and golf carts, and spending time with family and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Kyle Johnson; three brothers, David Labshere, Rodney Labshere and John Labshere; and three sisters, Mary Lance, Katy Cimo, and Roberta Adams.

Leroy is survived by his wife of 30 years, Carol McCleese Labshere; one son and daughter-in-law, Craig and Connie Chinn of Vanceburg; one daughter and son-in-law, Lori Chinn Scott and Allen; three grandsons, Steven Chinn of Ashland, Kerry Lee Johnson of Australia, and Shane Scott of Florida; one brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Cheryl Labshere of Johnsonville, New York; a very special cousin, Muriel Leonard of Rutland, Vermont; and his best friend and boss of 25 years, Robert Jones of Southeast Power Corporation in Titusville, Florida. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, October 21, 2016, at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery Northeast in Greenup County with Bro. Kevin Cornette officiating.

Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg is caring for all arrangements.
