Leymone McGlone, 86, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday, October 20, 2024, at Hospice of Hope Care Center in Maysville.
He was born in Lewis County on November 7, 1937, a son of the late Rev. Bruce and Violet Dyer McGlone.
Leymone was a true man of God, a member of Bivens Chapel Church where he loved to attend. His hobbies included telling stories, mowing his yard, reciting poetry, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his loving wife of 67 years, Linda Kamer McGlone; three daughters, Brenda (Randy) Lucas and Beth (Bo) Ginn of Vanceburg, and Teresa (Edward) Perry of Murfreesboro, Tennessee; one son, Chris (Jean) McGlone of Vanceburg; one sister, Alta Eldridge of Xenia, Ohio; nine grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Marvin McGlone, Grover McGlone and Clarence Edward McGlone; and a granddaughter, Chandee Riley.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Bivens Chapel Church at Garrison with Bro. Ronnie Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Skidmore Cemetery at Garrison.
Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, and after 9:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 23, 2024, at Bivens Chapel Church.
Pallbearers will be Alex McGlone, Drew Ginn, Cadan Setser, Eddie McGlone, Gary Ervin, and John Lewis. Chester Smyke will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
