Lonnie Ruford Thomas, 70, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, February 10, 2023, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care.

He was born in Lewis County on March 22, 1952, a son of the late Dempsey and Yvonne Owens Thomas.

Ruford attended Vanceburg Christian Baptist Church. He enjoyed logging, riding four-wheelers, and spending time with his family and grandchildren.

Ruford is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Debbie Tolle Thomas; three daughters, April (Nathaniel) McAdams, Lonetta (Travis) Cooper, and Missy Blevins of Vanceburg; three sons, Willis John (Pam) Blevins, Jody Blevins, and Nelson (Kathy) Blevins of Vanceburg; five brothers, Buford (Betty) Thomas and Tony (Charlene) Thomas of Winslow, Indiana, Faron Thomas and Jeffery (Karen) Thomas of Vanceburg, and Sonny (Serena) Thomas of Morehead; one sister, Starlin Blount of Stendal, Indiana; 12 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Baby Thomas and Mark Houston Thomas, and two sisters, Sandra Dyer and Sophie Thomas.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Jim Bob Williams officiating. Burial will follow in Thomas Family Cemetery on Lower Kinney Road.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 13, 2023, and after 9:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 14, 2023, at Dickerson Funeral Home.

Pallbearers will be Tylier McAdams, Jakob Cooper, Noah Cooper, Earl Brown, Brett Blevins, and Taylor Blevins.
