Loretta Ann Erskine Hylander, 72, of Wallingford, passed away Sunday, April 3, 2016, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington.
She was born January 25, 1944, in Burtonville to the late Clarence and Ellen Rolph Erskine.
Mrs. Hylander was devoted to the Lord and a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints where she served in many capacities. She loved working with children. She was a lifelong homemaker, mother and grandmother who enjoyed cooking, quilting, genealogy, jigsaw puzzles, collecting and organizing family photos, and playing guitar.
Mrs. Hylander is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Royce Hylander Sr.; five sons, Royce Roger Hylander Jr. of Fort Wright, Carlton Lee (Melissa) of Vine Grove, Eric Leon (Melissa) Hylander of Maysville, Aaron Joseph (Sara) Hylander of Wallingford, and Isaac Samuel Hylander of Petersville; two daughters, Lois Ann (Darren) Garrison of Augusta and Ellen Barbara (Travis) Cook of Cynthiana; 23 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents she, was preceded in death by her four brothers and two sisters.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 7, 2016, at Barbour and Son Funeral Home in Tollesboro with Bro. Kent Butcher officiating. Burial will be in Esham Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Royce, Carlton, Eric, Aaron, Isaac Hylander, Darren Garrison and Travis Cook. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Michael Hylander, Donovan James Hylander, Carlton Lee Hylander II and Eric Leon Hylander II.
Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, April 6, at the funeral home.
