Lovell Kamer, 84, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday evening, October 4, 2019, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
He was born June 17, 1935, in Lewis County, a son of the late Lester and Lee Ottie Stephenson Kamer.
Lovell proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member and elder of Bivens Chapel Church at Garrison. He loved going to church, working on the church, hunting, going on fishing trips and spending time with his family and friends.
Lovell is survived by his wife of 61 years, Anna Johnson Kamer; two daughters, Vicki Kamer of Vanceburg and Melanie Kamer of Maysville; one brother, Danny Kamer (Connie) of Garrison; and three sisters, Marcella Rowe, Janet Lambert (Oliver) and Patty Poynter. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, Lovell was preceded in death by three brothers, Arnold Kamer, Lowell Kamer and Ray Kamer; and three sisters, Darlene Kamer, Betty Dummitt and Louise Stanley.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Bivens Chapel Church at Garrison with Bro. Ronnie Conley officiating. Interment will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens with full military honors accorded by Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, October 9, 2019, at Bivens Chapel Church.
Pallbearers will be Mike Poynter, Mike Kamer, Paul Stanley, Bill Kamer, Kenny Stanley, Dan Kamer and Aaron Johnson.
