Marilyn Meadows Applegate, 62, went to be with her savior Sunday morning, August 21, 2016, at Care Center at Kenton Pointe in Maysville.
Marilyn was born, February 14, 1954, in Maysville to the late Howard and Beulah (Turner) Meadows.
She leaves behind her husband of 44 years, Harry Applegate; their two sons, Robert (Amanda) Applegate and Wesley (Brooke) Applegate, both of of Ewing; seven precious grandchildren, Morgan Faith, Bradley Thomas, Tanner Barrett, Tori Rae, Alayna Brooke, James Brady, and Madison Reese Applegate; three brothers, Gerald (Linda) Meadows, Kenneth (Janet) Meadows, and Jim (Jennifer) Meadows, all of Tollesboro; three nephews; and four nieces.
Marilyn was a Kentucky Colonel, voted Outstanding Citizen, served on various boards, and was paramount in the banking industry because of her compassion to help and serve people with their financial needs. Most important of all, Marilyn was a Christian and loved to worship, witness and serve Jesus. Marilyn read her Bible and prayed every day and she would want you to do the same. If you wish to be reunited and see Marilyn again, remember the words spoken by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ to His disciples in John 14:4, “And you know where I am going and how to get there.”
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 25, at May’s Lick Baptist Church with Rev. Kevin Cornette officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Carmel Cemetery.
