Mary Kathleen Gilliam Blankenship, 93, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, January 20, 2025, at Vanceburg Hills Skilled Nursing Facility.
She was born in Lewis County on May 2, 1931, a daughter of the late Franzo and Callie Riley Gilliam.
Mary was a member of Muses Chapel and loved attending church. She enjoyed cooking and visiting with her neighbors.
Survivors include a sister-in-law, Margaret Chinn of Mansfield, Ohio; a brother-in-law, Bill Chinn of Mansfield, Ohio; and several nieces and nephews. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Vernon Blankenship; one son, Carl Wayne Blankenship; three sisters, Bessie Sullivan, Ethel Lambert, and Dolly Jarrells; and four brothers, Richard Gilliam, Chester Gilliam, Charlie Gilliam, and Forest Gilliam.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Mike Grayson officiating. Burial will follow in Blankenship Cemetery in Camp Dix.
Friends may visit after 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 25, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
