Mary Elizabeth Ginn Gilbert, 88, of Quincy, passed away Tuesday, August 25, 2020, at SOMC Hospice Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born December 19, 1931, at Vanceburg, a daughter of the late Earl Allen Ginn Sr. and Ollie Faulkner Ginn.
Mary was a homemaker and assisted her husband on the farm while enjoying quilting, canning, and working in her garden. She was a member of Quincy Church of Christ.
Mary is survived by her children, George R. Gilbert of South Portsmouth, Paul D. (June) Gilbert of Shelbyville, Jack (Anita) Gilbert of Quincy, and Linda (Rick) Stone of Vanceburg; two sisters, Emma McClurg and Freida Ginn, both of Vanceburg; 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. She also leaves behind to celebrate her life several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Paul E. Gilbert in March 1993; her brothers, Franklin Thomas Ginn, Orville Dee Ginn, Earl “Junior” Ginn, Robert “Bobby” Ginn, Harold Vernon Ginn, and Virgil Dean Ginn; her sisters, Virginia Louise Henson and Sharyln Wright; and one daughter-in-law, Tonda Gilbert.
A private graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, August 28, 2020, at Lewis County Memory Gardens with Bro. Norman Potter officiating.
