Mary Lou Foster, 71, passed away Wednesday, September 20, 2023.
She was a resident of Colorado Springs, Colorado, for 30 years and loved to take in the beauty of the mountains, especially Pikes Peak. Before moving to Colorado, she enjoyed several moves with her family through the military including Fort Campbell; Frankfurt, Germany; Fort Knox; Alexandria, Virginia (around DC); and Heidelberg, Germany.
Mary was born at Vanceburg on August 31, 1952, a daughter of Burl and Agnes (Pollitt) Toller. On April 4, 1975, she married Allen Lee Foster in Clarksville, Tennessee.
Mary was fond of watching Hallmark movies and cooking shows. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially taking her granddaughters shopping for new shoes. She also looked forward to daily phone calls with her sister, Brenda, and the many laughs they shared. Mary was raised with her many siblings on a farm and learned the value of hard work. On January 31, 1974, she joined the United States Army and served until April 3, 1979. After her time in the military, Mary worked as a civil servant until 2019. She loved every job she had working for the government.
Mary is survived by her loving husband, Allen; her daughter, Lisa Miller (Zachary); her siblings, Bessie, Charlie, Floyd, and Brenda; and her granddaughters, Allison and Jillian.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her siblings, Lena, Loyd, Robin, Delbert, Juanita, Earl, Burl Jr., Jewell, Doug, and Buck.
