Mary Jane Rowe Wright Weddington, 93, of Garrison, passed away Thursday, January 14, 2021, at Southern Ohio Medical Center in Portsmouth, Ohio.
She was born October 25, 1927, in Pike County, a daughter of the late James and Bertha Hilton Rowe.
Mary was a member of Wrights Chapel Church for over 40 years. She enjoyed going to church, family gatherings, cooking and spending time with family.
Mary is survived by one son, Donnie Wright (Rhonda) of Quincy; five daughters, Wanda Brown (Maurice), Carolyn Scaggs (Jerry), Brenda Gilbert (Jack), and Lisa Weddington (Chris), all of Garrison, and Linda Brown (Donnie) of Wallingford; 15 grandchildren; 24 great-grandchildren; three great-great-grandchildren; and one sister, Georgia See (Jim Dailey) of Vermilion, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband and the father of her children, RB Wright; her second husband, Bernis Weddington; one son, Lonnie Wright; three grandchildren, Barry Wright, John Gilbert, and Kendra Brown; three brothers, Mack Rowe, Art Rowe and Jimmy Rowe; and five sisters, Naomi Wright, Edna Creech, Opal Bentley, Eula Mae Reczik, Florence Spence.
A private service will be Sunday, January 17, 2021, at Wrights Chapel Church in Garrison with Bro. Larry Jo Madden and Bro. Clarence Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the Collier Memorial Gardens in Greenup County.
Pallbearers will be Greg Brown, Tom Scaggs, Cameron Mineer, Jackie Gilbert, Brian Logan, Scott Weddington and Lonnie Wright. Bryan Wright, BJ Parker, Jason Weddington and Seth Wright will serve as honorary pallbearers.
