Melissa Lynn McCann Riley, 44, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday evening, September 29, 2016, at King’s Daughters Medical Center in Ashland.
She was born January 29, 1972, in Mason County, a daughter of Harold Edward and Cora Lee Alcorn McCann.
Melissa attended Vanceburg Church of God and worked for the Lewis County School System for 24 years. She enjoyed shopping, traveling, visiting the Smoky Mountains, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she is survived by her husband of 25 years, Jeffrey Lee Riley; one brother, Harold McCann Jr. (Melissa) of Vanceburg; one sister, Melinda Gibbs (Bobby) of Vanceburg; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
Services will be at 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from Noon until 2:00 p.m. Monday, October 3, 2016, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
