Minnie Zornes Bloomfield Yates, 101, of Vanceburg, passed away Thursday, September 8, 2022, at her residence.
She was born March 21, 1921, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Roy and Bell Riley Zornes.
Minnie attended Community Pentecostal Church. She retired from Dravo. She loved gardening, going to church, cooking, and spending time with her family and friends, especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by six sons, Jerry Bloomfield, Mike (Dana) Yates, and Bobby (Linda) Yates, all of Vanceburg, Morlen (Sue) Bloomfield and Raymond Yates, both of Black Oak, and Ron Bloomfield of Bucyrus, Ohio; five daughters, Charlene Swearingen, Christine Chatman, and Etta (Craig) Carroll, all of Vanceburg, Norma (Charles) Corns of Bucyrus, Ohio, and Earnestine (Larry) Feazell of Washington Courthouse, Ohio; 30 grandchildren; 52 great-grandchildren; 23 great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Lonnie Zornes of Emerson; and two children whom she raised as her own, Duane Fuller and Amy Stacey.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one son, Toby Yates; one daughter, Mary Bell Bloomfield; two grandchildren, Crystal Yates and Brandon Yates; three brothers, Homer Zornes, Willard Zornes, and Willie Elam; five sisters, Maggie Carver, Merle Bloomfield, Ethel Morgan, Ruth Thompson, and Hazel Williamson.
Services will be held at Noon Tuesday, September 13, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg with Bro. Jerry Bloomfield and Bro. Daniel Miller officiating. Burial will follow in the Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.
Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday, September 13, until the service hour at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg.
Her sons will serve as pallbearers.
