William F. Vaughn Jr., 71, of Vanceburg, passed away Friday, June 7, 2024, at Riverside Methodist Hospital in Columbus, Ohio, with his loving family by his side.
Bill, as he was known by his family and friends, was born in Rome, New York, November 6, 1952, to William F. Vaughn Sr. of Rome, New York, and the late Ann Piekarski Vaughn. Bill was a loving husband, father, brother, and son.
Bill was a religious man who loved God and his family above all else. He loved going hunting and watching NASCAR. Bill was always the person to call on when things needed fixed. He spent hours on the phone with his daughter, Kimberly every fall planning their hunting strategies. He was always very quick witted and the first to laugh and the first to start a good round of pranks. He will be sorely missed by his family and friends each and every day.
Left to cherish Bill’s memories are his wife of 31 years Jill Stafford Vaughn of Vanceburg; father, William F. Vaughn Sr. of Rome, New York; daughters, Kimberly Vaughn (Mike) Rome, New York, and Katrina (Jay) Dauback of Holland Patent, New York; sons, Christopher Vaughn, New York City, and Charles (Michael) Brown, Ocala, Florida; step-daughter, Andrea Thurman of Vanceburg; brothers, John (Joanne) Vaughn of Pennsylvania, and Dennis (Brenda) Vaughn from Alabama; sister, Diane (Roger) Bartholomew from Rome, New York; grandchildren, Kameron Vaughn, Michael Garrett, Brayden Dauback, Reese Dauback, and Liam Dauback; step-grandchildren, Leah and Gracie Potter; two-great-grandchildren, Kolter Vaughn and Octavia Whitten; and several nieces and nephews who also will mourn his passing.
Bill was preceded in death by his mother, Ann Piekarski; sister, Marlene Vaughn; and a step-son, Derek Sams
