Nancy Irene Whalen Hampton, 84, of Tollesboro, passed away Wednesday, February 9, 2022.
She was born in Mason County on April 9, 1937, a daughter of the late Lucian Whalen and Estelle Cooper Whalen.
Nancy was a member of Hickory Grove Christian Holiness Church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, quilting, caring for others, bird watching, and working in her flowers.
She is survived by four sons, Nelson (Misty) Hampton of Leesburg, Florida, Kenneth (Tracy) Hampton of Richmond, Andrew (Debbie) Hampton of Maysville, and Keith Hampton of Tollesboro; one daughter, Rebecca (Lee) True of Tollesboro; two sisters, Ruby Louise Sexton and Betty Carol Clem of Ewing; three grandchildren, Darron, Nicholas, and Mason; and three great-grandchildren, Zoey, Nicholas Jr., and Hunter. A host of other family members and friends also survive who will sadly mourn her passing.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, Wilson Eugene “Willie” Hampton; one son, Steven Hampton; and three brothers, Roy Whalen, David Whalen, and Glenn Whalen.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Hickory Grove Christian Holiness Church at Tollesboro with Bro. David Hickerson officiating. Burial will follow in Tollesboro Cemetery.
Family and friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Hickory Grove Christian Holiness Church.
Family will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Riley Robersion, Mason True, and Nicholas Hampton.
Tollesboro Funeral Home and Cremation Services will be caring for all arrangements.
