Nancy Ann Sturgell, 82, of Quincy, passed away peacefully at Beautiful Savior Nursing Home in Belton, Missouri, Tuesday, January 9, 2024, after a brief illness.
Nancy was born March 31, 1941, in Crossville, Tennessee, a daughter of the late Charles Manning Sr. and Lois (neƩ Brookhart) Manning. Nancy lived with her husband, Tennis Sturgell, in South Amherst, Ohio, where they raised their five children. After Tennis retired, he and Nancy moved from Ohio to Kentucky. After her husband passed, Nancy moved to Belton, Texas, and from there to Belton, Missouri.
Nancy is survived by three daughters, Barbara Dzur and her husband Doug of Peculiar, Missouri, Cynthia King and her fiancƩ Donald Bockmon of Aztec, New Mexico, and Sarah Collison and her husband Jim of Bellevue, Nebraska; two sons, David Sturgell and his wife Cindy of LaGrange, Ohio, and Daniel Sturgell and his wife Amy of Belton, Texas; her sisters, Patricia Hale, Trudy Garcia, and Margaret Manning; her brother, Robert Manning; 17 grandchildren; and 23 great-grandchildren. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will greatly miss her.
In addition to her parents, Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Tennis Sturgell, and her brother, Charles Manning Jr.
Services will be Tuesday, January 16, 2024, at 1:00 p.m. at The Little Mary Church, Maxey Flat Road at Hillsboro, with Elders Larry Newsome and Stoney Blackburn officiating. Burial will follow in Little Mary Cemetery at Maxey Flats.
Visitation is before the funeral from 11:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Nancyās grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.
