Nellie “Ruth” Smith Bradford, 86, of London, Ohio, passed away Monday, January 4, 2021, at Saber Rehab Center in London, Ohio.
She was born December 12, 1934, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Henry and Dorothy Butler Smith.
Nellie loved the Lord and dedicated her life to Him. She was a member of Vanceburg Church of God for many years. Nellie loved to help with all the events that were planned for the church and invited others to attend. She loved her grandchildren, Shane and Amanda, and was very proud of them, always bragging on them. Nellie had many great memories with her great-grandchildren, a lot of laughter and love when they were around.
Nellie is survived by one daughter, Brenda Stacy (Jesse) of London, Ohio; two grandchildren; Jesse Shane Stacy (Joy) and Amanda Leigh Greene (Russell), of London, Ohio; five great-grandchildren, Sam, Lucy, Benny, Izzy, and Gabby; two brothers, Raymond Smith (Judy) of Tennessee, and Vernon Smith (Gail) of Vanceburg; and four sisters, Marjorie Reed (Benny) of Cincinnati, Ohio, Nova Bannister (Glenn) of Vanceburg, Kathy Mefford (Rodney) and Tena Jarrells (Mike), of Vanceburg. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 23 years, Gobel Bradford Jr.; two brothers, Lovel Smith and Henry Smith Jr.; and four sisters, Mary Bloomfield, Judy Smith, Alvia Hartley and Roxie Lawson.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel in Garrison with Bro. Arthur Moore officiating. Burial will follow in Black Oak Cemetery.
Friends may visit from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Friday, January 8, 2021, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 103 Dudley Avenue at Garrison.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
