Nicholas Owens

Nicholas Owens, 44, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday, June 16, 2024, at Portsmouth, Ohio.

He was born June 19, 1979, in Rowan County, son of Robert “Bobby” Owens of Laurel and the late Mildred Lewis Owens.

Nicholas was a construction worker and loved watching UK basketball, the outdoors, hunting mushrooms and ginseng, and spending time with his family.

Nicholas is survived by his loving wife, Amanda Dyer Owens; two daughters, Treasure Owens and Bella Dyer of Vanceburg; one son, Grant Owens of Floyd County; three sisters, Marilyn (Lanny) Stone of Vanceburg, Diahann (Gary) Gross of Lexington, and Rachel Owens of Olive Hill; and nine brothers, Bobby (Peggy) Owens, Jr. of Laurel, Greg (Tawnya) Owens of Tollesboro, Chris (Wanda) Owens of Morrison, Tennessee, Victor Owens, Brian (Fonda) Owens, and Andy (Jenny) Owens of Morehead, Matthew Owens of Olive Hill, Jason (Missy) Owens of Winchester, and Scott (Jennifer) Owens of Garrison. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his mother, he was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa Hilderbrand.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel, 7975 Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix, with his brother, Greg Owens, officiating. Burial will follow in Owens Family Cemetery at Laurel.

Friends may visit after 11:30 a.m. Sunday, June 23, 2024, at Globe Family Funeral Chapel at Camp Dix.

Pallbearers will be TJ Brown, Jarod Zornes, Gregory Owens II, Joey Owens, Jordan Thompson, Reyner Collins, and Austin Salyers.
