Anthony Dwight “Nick” McAdams, 75, of Flemingsburg, went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 25, 2025, at UK St. Claire HealthCare in Morehead. He was surrounded by his loving family.
Nick was born July 1, 1950, in Lewis County, a son of the late Edgar Ray and Kathryn Leona Tolle McAdams.
He proudly served his country in the United States Army and was of the Pentecostal faith. He enjoyed reading the Bible, preaching, singing and playing the piano, attending church, and spending time with his family. He was especially known for his love of buttermilk and cream horns, and the joy he found in being with his grandchildren.
Survivors include his loving wife of 31 years, Anita Bowles McAdams; four daughters, Brandi McKinley of Bruce, Mississippi, Beth McAdams of Black Oak, Krista Marcum of Flatwoods, and Adrienne Wheeler of Lexington; two sons, Jerimey McAdams of Richmond and Antonio McAdams of Maysville; four sisters, Pauletta Logan of Hillsdale, Michigan, Sherry McAdams and Regina Carroll of Ashland, and Twylla James of Greenup; and two brothers, John McAdams of Iron River, Michigan, and Lanny McAdams of Tollesboro; 18 grandchildren; and a host of great-grandchildren. His caregiver and friend Michael Wilson, other family members, and friends will also mourn his passing.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Raeann Howard McAdams, and three brothers, Timothy McAdams, Daniel McAdams, and James McAdams.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, November 1, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Pastor Jason Thurman Jr. and Bro. JR Hampton officiating.
Burial will follow in Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be after 11:30 a.m. Saturday at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Pallbearers will be Kaden Wheeler, Jesse James, Cory Carroll, Eric Smith II, Loran Smith, and Austin Tumlin.
