Norma Rosena Kegley McRoberts, 90, of Vanceburg, passed away Sunday morning, April 29, 2018, at Vanceburg Rehabilitation and Care Center.

She was born November 3, 1927, in Lewis County, a daughter of the late Clarence and Mary Opal Mayme Kegley.

Norma was a member of Vanceburg First Baptist Church and was employed by the Lewis County Board of Education as a teacher. She enjoyed going to church, playing her guitar and piano, reading, going to country music shows, teaching, holiday dinners, going out to eat and spending time with her family and friends, especially with her grandson.

Norma is survived by two daughters and sons-in-law, Donna and Kenneth Carver and Judy and Maurice Carver, all of Vanceburg; one grandson, Derrick and Leslie Carver; two great-grandchildren, Nathaniel Paul Carver and Derrick Paul Carver Jr.; one brother and sister-in-law, Jimmy and Ruby Kegley of Naples, Flordia; and one sister, Jennieve Ruckel of Mansfield, Ohio. She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 71 years, Arvel Douglas “Doug” McRoberts; one brother and sister-in-law, Paul Freddie and Lula Kegley; and one brother-in-law, Harvey Ruckel.

Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 3, 2018, at Vanceburg First Baptist Church with Bro. Michael Ulrich officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak.

Friends may visit from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 2, 2018, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg  and after 10:00 a.m. Thursday at the church.

Pallbearers will be Rob Kennard, Danny Enix, Brian Wright, Bill Stone, Larry Kegley, Jack Prater, and David Willis.
