Otis Lee Horsley, 71, of Vanceburg, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at his home.
He was born in Lewis County on September 6, 1951, a son of the late Dewey and Sally Lewis Horsley.
Otis proudly served his country in the United States Army and was a member of the National Guard. He was a member of Evans Chapel Church at Vanceburg and enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Otis is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Lilly Rowland Horsley; three sons, Otis Horsley II and his wife Rachel of Maysville, and Frank Horsley and Johnny Horsley of Vanceburg; one brother, Lonnie Horsley of Garrison; one sister, Linda Sue Jordan of Garrison; seven grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Many other family members and friends also survive who will sadly miss him.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kevin Horsley; a daughter, Peggy Wilburn; five brothers, Jack Horsley, Jim Horsley, Paul Horsley, Nelson Horsley, and Gene Horsley; and three sisters, Betty Sensabaugh, Nellie Boyd, and Bertha Stone.
Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Ronnie Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Maddy Cemetery.
Friends may visit after 9:30 a.m. Monday, December 19, 2022, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
Family and friends will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Aydyn Sparks and Samuel Scott Horsley.
Graveside military rites will be accorded by Olive Hill American Legion Post 138.
