Pamela J. Stafford Holmes, 78, of Carbondale, Illinois, passed away Thursday, July 3, 2025, at Sunrise Manor Nursing Home in Hodgenville.
She was born in Morris, Illinois, on May 31, 1947, a daughter of the late William Henry and Mavis Marie Maddox Stafford.
Pamela married Eric “Rick” W. Holmes on August 21, 1971, in Elgin, Illinois. He preceded her in death on December 2, 2009. Before moving to Carbondale, she and Rick lived on a farm in the Ava area. Pamela worked as a registered nurse for Doctor’s Hospital, Carbondale Memorial Hospital, and the Center for the Medical Arts.
Survivors include her sister, Priscilla (William) Oswald of Richland Center, Wisconsin, along with other family members and friends who will sadly miss her.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by one sister, Shirley; her husband’s brother, Steven; a sister-in-law, Susan; and one nephew.
Services will be at 1:45 p.m. Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg, with Bro. Wes Cooper officiating. Burial will follow in Liles Cemetery on Lower Kinney Road at Camp Dix.
Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 19, at Dickerson Funeral Home.
