Paul Ray Esham

Paul Ray Esham, age 77, of Vanceburg, passed away Tuesday, June 8, 2021, at Meadowview Regional Medical Center in Maysville.

He was born July 30, 1943, in Lewis County, a son of the late Norman and Laura Stamm Esham.

Paul proudly served his country in the United States Army and loved going to horse shows, mowing grass, and spending time with his family.

Paul is survived by his wife, Fonda Henderson Esham; two daughters, De Ann Esham of Tollesboro, and Paula Burriss of Vanceburg; one granddaughter, Bailey, whom he raised as his own; four grandchildren, Bethany, Jonathan, Isaiah, and Ainsley; 10 great-grandchildren; and three sisters, Ruth Crawford (Frank Jr.) of Vanceburg, Geraldine Leedy of Ewing, and Shirlene Mattox of Flemingsburg. He also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss him.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one grandson, Triston Burriss, whom he raised as his own; one brother, Carl Esham; and one sister, Doris Childers.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home in Vanceburg with Bro. Jim Bob Williams and Bro. Roger Conley officiating. Burial will follow in Lewis County Memory Gardens at Black Oak with full military honors accorded by the Monte Lewis Stamm VFW Post 5438.

Friends may visit from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. Saturday, June 12, 2021, at Dickerson Funeral Home, 110 West Second Street in Vanceburg.

Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
