Paul Joseph Lyons, 79, of Garrison, passed away Sunday, December 29, 2024, at Vanceburg Hills Nursing Home. His wife was at his side.
Paul was born February 24, 1945, in Lewis County, a son of the late Arnold and Lizzie Leadingham Lyons.
Paul was of the Baptist faith and a self-employed truck driver for over 50 years. He enjoyed dancing, race cars, and trucking. His family and friends were his passion.Â
Those left to cherish Paul’s memory are his wife, Helen Lyons; one daughter, Lisa Long (Darrell) of Milton, Indiana; three sons, Paul Joseph Lyons Jr. (Melinda) of South Portsmouth, Jerry Lyons (Sherry) of Firebrick, and Jimmy Lyons of Big Bear Lake, Ohio; three stepchildren, Diane Blackburn, Leon Wright, and Paul Wright; two sisters, Mary Cluberhouse and Beulah Wilburn; 21 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; a special niece, Angie Elliott; and two special friends, Clarence and Richard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Johnny Lyons, three stepchildren, Karen Lyons, Michael Lyons, and Angie Lyons; three sisters, Nellie Fisher, Judy Barker, and Opal Mills; and a brother Luther Lyons.
Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, January 2, 2025, at Music Family Funeral Home in Greenup. Visitation will be after 11:00 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Luther Lyons Family Cemetery at Greenup.
